Force ChatGPT to identify and map conflicting claims across your sources before summarizing, preserving crucial contradictions that AI tends to smooth over.
🤖 Works with: ChatGPT
The Prompt
Copy and paste — replace anything in [brackets].
Here are my sources: [paste sources / notes]. Do NOT summarize yet. First build a disagreement map: - List every claim where at least two sources conflict. - For each, quote the conflicting lines and name which source said what. - Mark each conflict as: factual (a checkable fact), interpretive (same facts, different reading), or scope (talking about slightly different things). - Flag any claim that only ONE source makes and no other confirms. Return only the disagreement map. I will tell you what to do next.
What it’s good for
Prevents AI from glossing over source contradictions during research synthesis. Forces explicit mapping of disagreements before generating final content.
How to use it
- Paste your collected sources/notes into the [paste sources / notes] placeholder
- Copy and paste the entire prompt into ChatGPT
- Use the resulting disagreement map to guide your final synthesis request
